By finishing 1st or 2nd in your Founders Cup Flight, you’ve earned a spot in the 2025 BMGA Match Play Championship.

📅 Event Dates: Saturday–Sunday, October 4–5

📍 Location: Belmont Country Club – White Tees

🔹 Event Format

Saturday → Three 9-hole matches (single elimination)
Sunday AM → 18-hole Semi-Final
Sunday PM → 18-hole Championship Match

👉 Win and advance. Lose and you’re out.

🔹 Confirmation Required

Please RSVP by Tuesday, September 9th to confirm your participation.

If you are unable to play, brackets will be adjusted accordingly.

Players who did not finish in the top 2 of their Founders Cup Flight can still qualify through:

The following is a recap of the Match Play Tournament:

1. The MP Tournament

a. The first (32), second (16), and third (8) rounds will be nine-hole matches played on Saturday

b. The semifinals and finals will be 18 holes and played on Sunday

c. All matches will be played from the WHITE TEES

d. Players will receive 80% of handicaps

e. Due to randomness of matches (front/back 9), if difference in handicaps on a 9-hole match is 1 stroke, player will get .5 (1/2) stroke

f. Saturday matches will be grouped together for 1st & 2nd rounds (break at 9 and re-pair)

g. Saturday 3rd round matches will resume after lunch break

h. Sunday semi-finals will play in the morning with finals played after lunch break

i. If a match is tied after completion of a 9 or 18-hole match, there will be a playoff. Players will play until the tie is broken.

2. Additional info:

a. The Executive Board (Al, Adam) will make up the local committee and will enact “local rules”

b. Grand Prize for MP: $500 pro shop credit

c. MP 2nd place prize is $350 pro shop credit

d. MP 3rd and 4th place prize is $250 pro shop credit each

e. MP quarterfinals prize is $100 pro shop credit each

f. Beverage cart will be available for soda, water, iced tea and Gatorade.
